Sparkplug is a father-son company. We believe that Baltimoreans are people who enjoy getting out and exploring our city with all of its eclectic neighborhoods and activities that it has to offer. Because of that, we don't want coffee that's limited by four walls and an address. We want to be out and about where people are having fun and be a part of that experience.

It doesn’t take much horsepower to bring our customers great coffee. With that in mind, we wanted a cute, agile vehicle that could show up pretty much anywhere.

While the Suzuki Carry might be unfamiliar to most Americans, as it was never marketed domestically, its class of mini truck is one of the most common work vehicles on earth. It’s a fixture in most Asian cities, where it excels at hauling loads up steep hills and tight streets.

We worked with a broker to help us win our vintage 1995 truck at auction and ship it from Kobe, Japan. We may never know what this little truck used to do for a living before it sold coffee!

Without stock kitchens available stateside for these trucks, everything you see we built ourselves, from the welded frame to the 1990s design aesthetic.

Check out some pics from the process below. If you’d like to import one of these vehicles yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out, and we can tell you about the process.

Lately, we have expanded our fleet of coffee options to include indoor service on our coffee carts

We are privileged to work with Dear Globe Coffee to roast our exclusive blend. They are another Baltimore-based business with decades of experience in the coffee industry, and share our vision of great coffee, accessible from anywhere!
